Cancelled Simpsons stuff

Simpsons stuff that wasn't so lucky

By kelp, 24-9-22

Hi. Been a while hasn't it? Anyways, The Simpsons is something I REFUSE to shut up about, and that show's been going on for like YEARS now, so it's pretty damn obvious it has episodes that get scrapped and stuff. Yeah, anyways lets get into it.

That one episode with Prince

This episode was supposed to be a sequel to "Stark Raving Dad" (the Micheal Jackson episode), Leon Kompowsky (dude who thought he was Micheal Jackson) now thinks he's Prince (music guy). So according to Al Jean, there were like 2 scripts, one of which was made by either a bunch of freelance writers or Conan O'Brien, sources aren't very consistent. The other Script was made by some fella working for Prince`, according to Matt Groening (Rabbit comic guy), his driver wrote that last one. Around 2016, Al Jean released a bit of the script Here's another part of the script, which I assume is about some movies Prince made.

Nazis on tap

(Note to managers of the webrings i'm in, this doesn't count as hate speech, does it? I'm not saying anything good about nazis, so I think this is fine. If there's some issue with this, please email me :> ) This is not an episode, but it counts, so do NOT dm me about this. Anyways, got some Popeye vibes with this one, with the whole World War 2 theming and just the writing style in general. There's a talking dog in this for some reason, I assume it's some reference I'm too young/stupid/cool to know about. This is only an audio track, they either didn't complete the animation, or it's totally intentional and this was supposed to be like a radio show parody that was just meant as an inside joke, but it probably isn't, as lots of sources say it was meant to be a short that played at the end of "Bart The Daredevil" ("Funny fat person fall down 1!1! ha ha!1!" episode), as filler. Matt Groening supposedly thought it was too strange, and wouldn't make too much sense to appear so early in the show, hence it was scrapped. Here's the audio paired with a little comic and also the source for this part of the article

Rapid fire

An episode about racism? It's quite obvious why this was scrapped, it's quite a delicate subject matter. I do feel like if they did it well, it might actually be a really good episode, like how The Simpsons actually managed to tackle the issue of homophobia surprisingly well for an episode from the 90s. I can TOTALLY understand why they didn't do it. There was a scientology episode planned too, it was actually supposed to be a really funny. They didn't do it to avoid a lawsuit and for obvious reasons related to a very important voice actor "Homer Privately Tells Bart He Loves Him Best" was once suggested, sounds really fun actually, quite a shame it didn't make it out. "Marge the Cartoonist" was suggested back in 96', it was scrapped (like ALL of the other episodes), but there's a really simillar episode concept that appeared around 20 years later. Oh and don't forget about "Moe Gets Caller I.D", would make an AMAZING B-plot ngl.
